Giving a gift basket for Christmas can be one of the nicest experiences for you and the recipient. You don’t need to think of a gift basket as something you give because you don’t have any ideas and you don’t know what to give.icon

Although a gift basket can be a good answer to that particular problem, it doesn’t have to be the reason for giving one. The truth is, some of these gifts are really terrific. And in some cases, the container is more than just a container. It’s not always a basket. It can be a great decorative item. Some of the containers are so beautiful they could be gifts on their own.

Thanks for the ideas! We’re a bit low on money for gifts this year so I was looking for some other ideas. Gift baskets will be wonderful for each family instead of individual gifts! Thank You!

I put together “a night at the movies” baskets, which included a DVD or two, a pkg of microwave popcorn and several boxes of “movie type candies that can be bought at the dollar store. You can also add a drink mix that they can make and serve. So far everyone I’ve given that gift to has loved it.

When I think about gift baskets, I think of putting together something that a person wouldn’t get for themself. I love to make cookie and cake mixes up and load baskets with these, plus items that I canned in the summer, like pickles and blueberry jam. Mixes that will shave time off a busy mom’s schedule, but would be fun to make with her children are also big. I include wooden mixing spoons and some kind of a personal trinket. I like to sew and love to pack gifts in homemade Christmas stockings. I’ve packed items into large tins, old sap buckets, baskets of all kinds, decoupaged metal paint cans and inexpensive mixing bowls. I pick up interesting things as I come across them and I am never caught without something to bring if invited to a dinner or party. The choices are endless.

Thank you for this great idea of a ‘gift basket’. I can now give each of my family members a small gift basket with the things that they like and can use. Thanks so much once again.

We do a gift basket exchange at our family Christmas Party every year. Each family makes a gift basket with a $20.00 limit. We number the baskets as they arrive and after dinner each family draws a number from a bowl and gets that basket. This year I think we will do it “dirty santa” style to make the swapping more fun. We have received alot of nice things in our baskets from dvd and popcorn to alcohol and mixers. It is so much fun making the baskets.

I think this article was a great help christmas baskets is the most wonderful thing I’ve heard. The most wonderful thing is how people are so generous on christmas. Sometimes I feel sad because Jesus is dead but celebrating his birthday is most of the fun
